Week on Sketchbook

Having fun with my ''Toned'' sketchbook. I dig the fact that white is not the base colour and I just use it as a light kind of thing. I normally use it as a one side contour line.

The second image is one week of doodles during the night on my normal sketchbook. (not counting the first image of that sequence which is digital ).

Conquistamos las estrellas y aun asi te vas

Well I've been crazy busy these days. Working in a lot of things that I can't show yet. Here is something I did on a break. The sentence is from a song.

Also I will share today a really cool project a good friend is developing. You must check this thing out. It's PLANET CUBE 23, a really nice looking art and good animation together this an interesting 8 bit sound fxs. I'm sure you will enjoy it. And soon he will be doing apps as well, so yeah good things will come from this.

For now that it is, here the inspiration images:  Image 1  Image 2  Image 3

Barbarian

Recently I bought an amazing app. It's the PoseBook by the great Stephen Silver. Here is a drawing based on one of its images. It is such a nice app, and you can carry them in your smart-phone for whenever you want to draw.  He has 2 editions: Males and Females, so far I just got the Female's one, but I'm getting the other one for sure. It is totally worthy!

God of Thunder

Click on image for better resolution

The God of Thunder. This is a poster I had for a while waiting to be paint. I've been having a lot of fun working as a Storyboard Clean up/Revisionist  in the new Avengers Assemble series. So I decided to make a fan art. It has been a great experience, specially to improve my drawing skills on this ''american comic style'' characters.
You can check some AVENGERS ASSEMBLE promo clip here.
I also asked 2 other artists to paint this drawing, so hopefully I can see someone else interpretation on the colouring soon.

Next some making of this drawing, hopefully it helps someone somehow.

Here is how the composition and colours work.
Composition (green): I put the attention on the center of the image.  I used the elements like: mountains, cape and the thunders to point towards Thor's head-chest. Now, the thunders work a bit different because they point to the Mjolnir (hammer) then from there the arm brings us again to Thor's head-chest.
Colour (red): Again the colours meet in the center of the drawing. It travels from the Blue all the way to the Yellow meeting each other in the center.

Next is a process from Sketch all the way to Final, really straight forward.

Trinquétte challenge

This is my weekly entry for the Trinquétte challenge. I'm going back to black pencil and just some whites after a long period of doing stuff in digital.
On these ones I tried to simplify lines and shapes, hopefully I will be posting more.

Random things on a Sunday

Today a couple of drawings: Jon Snow and a french girl.

On this post I also want to promote a friend's project, that I hope you could support as well.  They are a couple of friends from Costa Rica and they are doing an animated feature film. The project is really cool and I know them so I'm sure it will be great. They have been nominated before for Annecy with a short film they did a while ago.
The movie is called 'The Esoteric Birthday''
You can find the teaser/trailer of the movie here: Trailer
And here the funding campaign: The Esoteric Birthday

Please help them :)

More Acrylic

Another Sunday with Acrylics. This time trying more colors and filling more the page, not worrying about cutting the drawing out of the page. Also painted every part with a different tool: some brushes, napkins, by finger and some charcoal for whites.
